Moving to a new place presents new beginnings and opportunities. For this Midwestern couple of newlyweds, a new beginning meant a change of weather and a new employer. They had recently moved down south to Florida from Iowa, fascinated by the new prospect of living near the beach. When they arrived, they decided to stay in a small bungalow next to their grandparents' house, on the condition that they helped spruce up the old, dingy bathroom.

Before and After Picture of Grout Cleaning in Estero, Florida

Moving, of course, is not a cheap endeavor, and this young couple were on a very tight budget. However, the bathroom did need work, so they started researching online for an Estero grout cleaning service that could do the job without making a significant dent in their bank accounts. They soon found Sir Grout of Southwest Florida's website, and after noticing the great number of good reviews, they decided to give it a try, signing up for a free evaluation.

When the day of the consultation arrived, our team of experts headed to the residence to meet the clients and assess the problem. The tile and grout lines were overgrown with mold and mildew, staining the former white grout to an almost greenish-black color. Evidence of soap stains were also plain to see. The clients were worried that the work needed would be extensive, but our technicians put them at ease suggesting Sir Grout's flagship grout cleaning and sealing service to return the bathroom to its original state, with the added benefit of making it easier to maintain. The clients accepted.

The following day our experts initiated the cleaning process, first applying our proprietary, non-toxic cleaner for tile and grout. They then meticulously cleaned the grout and tile surfaces with a high-speed, gentle scrubber. Mold and mildew are usually resistant to regular cleaning methods, so a steam cleaner was used to purge it, and also remove dirt from difficult-to-reach areas. Once the cleaning was done, it was time to change the grout's color with our proprietary ColorSeal. The couple selected, out of wide range of possibilities, a beautiful "mist" color to meld with the tiles' lovely hues. Recoloring is not the only benefit of our ColorSeal though, the process also makes grout lines stain-, water-, mold-, and mildew-resistant.

After our treatment, the bathroom looked refreshed and clean. The couple was astounded by the difference. They took pictures and brought their grandparents to see if they would approve. They did, and complimented our technicians on their swiftness in doing such a good job.

Before leaving, our experts gave both couples a few maintenance tips to keep the shower looking good for a long time. They first advised to forgo soap, since it leaves a sticky residue that fosters the growth of mold, mildew and other types of fungi. Instead, they kindly recommended to use a soap-less, pH-neutral cleaner, to always use a clean mop, and to change mop water frequently to prevent stains due to dirty water. The last -- but not least important – advice our specialists gave them was to always dry the shower with a clean towel or terry cloth instead of air-drying, to prevent cleaner residue from embedding itself into the grout lines and tiles.
