This Shower Looks Brand New After a Grout Sealing Service in Naples, Florida
January 19, 2017
This homeowner had been living on her own for more than five years. She had moved from Virginia to a lovely residence in Naples, South Florida, to work as an engineer at a renowned tech company. When she moved into her new home, her favorite room was the master bathroom – it was spacious, and she loved the design, the tiles, and the small yet comfortable shower. Nonetheless, as the years passed, the shower's tiles and grout started to look discolored and dingy. It eventually got to the point where it was unpleasant to use the shower.
After doing some research, the homeowner learned that a grout sealing service could renew her shower; therefore, she searched online for a Naples grout sealing
company, hoping to find one that could provide a high-quality restoration service. Among the first search results, the resident found Sir Grout SW Florida's website. All our before and after blog posts impressed her, so she gave us a call to set up a free, in-home consultation, which we scheduled for that same week.
Our experts arrived at the property on the day of the consultation to meet the client and inspect the shower. They noticed right away that the grout joints between the shower floor and walls were covered in mold and mildew. Also, the grout looked discolored in certain areas, and the floor's corners had embedded dirt.
The homeowner talked to our experts about some of the methods that she used in her attempts to restore the shower: baking soda, vinegar, bleach-based cleaners… None of them did the job. She also showed us the soap-based cleaner that she bought to clean the shower; this product was surely one of the main causes of the filth buildup on the floor, since soap leaves a sticky residue that traps dirt. To her relief, we assured her that our grout sealing service would not only revamp her shower, it would also make it more resistant to damaging agents and a lot easier to clean in the future. The Naples resident agreed to the service, so we began the following day.
Before starting the grout sealing process, the team performed a deep cleaning of the entire shower – they applied Sir Grout's proprietary tile and grout cleaner and then used a high-speed, gentle scrubber to remove soap scum and embedded dirt. For stubborn areas, they turned to vapor steam cleaning.
Once the shower was properly cleaned, our hard surface restorers continued by performing all the grout repairs that were necessary, including the removal of the dirty grout joints between the floor and walls. Then, they applied Stainmaster Epoxy Grout, a two-part epoxy product that is non-porous, which means that it doesn't absorb any contaminants or stains. Stainmaster also comes in a variety of colors, and the customer chose the one that best matched the tiles. As a final touch, the team buffed on Sir Grout's Tile Armor sealant over the entire shower floor to protect the tiles and grout.
Thanks to the grout sealing service, the shower regained its brand-new appearance. The new, recolored grout lines perfectly matched the tiles' shade, making the shower look neat and attractive again. Before leaving, our grout sealing experts advised the homeowner to change her soap-based cleaner for a soapless, pH-neutral one, which won't leave a sticky residue on the surface. Also, to prevent mold and mildew growth, they recommended her to always keep the shower properly ventilated, especially after hot showers. The Naples resident thanked us for the maintenance tips and promised to follow them to the letter. Some time after the service, another client contacted us thanks to her recommendation, which pleased us very much.
